FM21 – Yes Man! – Club 05, Episode 13 – A REAL Problem

Hi! My name is Pierran Shearer. I am not related to Alan but he has inspired me to start a career in football management. This is my Football Manager story. I’m 28 years old and used to teach PE in a school in Cornwall.

If you haven’t caught up with the save so far, go back and read from the beginning here

Autumn 2033

The season began with a trip to Juventus followed by a trip to Inter. If we win it gives us a head start on them, confidence in beating the top teams and bragging rights in the early 6-pointer games. And with Sacolle scoring in both, we secured victory against both Juventus and Inter. A great way to start the season!

The wins continue to come thick and fast after that! Between August and January, we remained unbeaten only drawing to Torino and Napoli.

This put is in a great position at the top of the table, clear by 9 points at the half way stage of the competition.

But remember, we were successful last season but weren’t able to hold it together in the second half of the season. I’m hoping this time it’ll be a different story.

Champions League

The group stages of the Champions League also took place during the first half of the season creating a perfect way to update you all. We also had that Zidane and his Real Madrid to play… It wasn’t good…

The only two games we lost were to Real Madrid. And once again Zidane was smug enough to really get under my skin! This is turning into a REAL problem (get it? REAL problem, REAL Madrid?) The only good thing about it was we would be progressing with them to the knockout rounds as we beat the rest of the teams. See you in the final, Zidane!

But first, we’d have to beat Bayern Munchen in the First Knockout Round

Coca-Cola SuperCup

January also hosts the Supercup between the winners of the league and the winners of the Italian cup competition. Once again, we’d be playing Juventus in UAE. For some reason the competition is held abroad. I think it’s just to get everyone a chance to have a holiday!

The match was disappointing. I had decided to give the players a bit of a rest in the lead up to this match as there are no league games playing towards the end of December. I normally arrange friendlies to keep everyone match fit but I looked at the fixtures in January and decided they needed to be ready. But when the players returned from a short break, they had forgotten how to play the football!

We lost to Juventus 0-2 and we never turned up. I think our xG was under 0.10 for the whole game! Not good as we now had to play Jueventus and Inter in the league and Atalanta in the Coppa Italia. Losing motivation now would be a disaster!

Please come back and find out what happens next
